A 40 minute drive takes you to the Port of Holyhead on the beautiful island of Anglesey, where you can jump onto a ferry to cross the sea to explore the lovely country of Ireland. Also, Llandudno is a great base for golfers as there is a multitude of superb links courses including the Championship course at Conwy.
